What are the advantages of bar saw cutting?

Firewood processing equipment that uses a bar saw is typically smaller and lighter than a circular saw processor. This makes the machine easier to manoeuvre and tow. The design of our bar saw models (the M-Series) is also simpler and features less expensive components, which means a lower overall price. The M-Series is extremely versatile, with the M18-20, M20-30, and M24-30 ideal as entry level machines. That being said, only a chainsaw can cut the widest diameter logs, even if it can’t match the speed of a circular saw. With regular maintenance, cleaning, sharpening, and lubrication, a bar saw is ideal for smaller-scale production where time is not a critical factor.

What are the advantages of Circular Saw cutting?

Circular Saw-equipped firewood processors require far less maintenance than those with chainsaws. The high-quality blades are tipped with tungsten carbide teeth, and can operate for up 1,500 hours between sharpenings. In the unlikely event of the teeth being damaged, they can easily be replaced at low cost. Unlike a bar saw, foreign bodies in the wood won’t damage the saw blade – so while it’s best to be cutting clean wood, some dirt won’t be a problem with a Circular Saw. Circular Saws also don’t need lubricant, either, and the sawdust they produce can be collected as a byproduct of the process. The clearest advantage of our CS-Series Circular Saw models, though, is their speed, letting you drastically increase productivity.
